Almavigna
Thanks to the Materials Physics course, my team and I collaborated with ISINNOVA on the "Almavigna" project, aiming to address the challenge of utilizing winemaking by-products in a sustainable way. Our objective was to develop a high-quality anti-aging face cream using polyphenol-rich grape seeds extracted directly from the winemaking process. This project sought to meet the growing demand for natural and eco-friendly cosmetics while reducing waste in the wine industry. Over two months, our team of nine worked efficiently by dividing into subgroups, each focusing on specific tasks. I concentrated on conducting a detailed market demand analysis, drawing insights from the 55th Analysis of the Cosmetics Sector and Consumer Behavior in Italy. My analysis highlighted industry trends such as a 12.4% growth in global turnover and a 67% consumer preference for sustainable products. Additionally, I emphasized the importance of ICEA and COSMOS certifications and proposed using recycled glass for the cream's packaging, aligning with consumer preferences for eco-friendly materials. I also developed a competitive pricing strategy, incorporating a 60% profit margin to position the product as a premium choice. Furthermore, I recommended a B2C strategy to expand market reach, emphasizing direct consumer engagement to enhance brand visibility. The project resulted in a detailed business plan and a functional prototype of the anti-aging cream. ISINNOVA appreciated our innovative approach and expressed interest in adopting elements of our strategy. This experience allowed me to blend market analysis with product development, while also highlighting the role of strategic marketing in achieving success in a competitive market.
